Nintendo has gone full greed mode. No way they are doing discounts like Selects. $80 games is what they are going for these days, not $20-$30 games. They've realized they can charge any price they want and people will buy, thus, you'll always be paying full price for Ninty games no matter how many years pass.

Don't worry, we'll be happy once we get that 20-30$ discount once per year during the holidays lol.

But truthfully I don't see them doing this now that they've done with Vouchers instead
